Indigenous Stockmen Oral Histories

Indigenous Stockman's Aural History Project

The project is underway and involved local indigenous particpants interviewing and recording on audio/cisual equipment the stories of the Eidsvold and surrounding districts Indigenous Stockmen.  The participants are working with experinece audio/cisual and oral history workers to interview and record their chosen stockman's life stories.  These will be recorded ready to be transferred to the touchscreen equipment in the RM Williams presentation area.

The project is aiing to ensure that the Indigenous Stockmen - their stories of life working the large properties of the North Burnett and the stories of their families are recorded for future generations - celebrating their important contribution to the success of the region as the premier cattle producing area of their generation.

It is hoped that the skills deceloped can also be used to create a collect of other important and culturally significant stories from the Eidsvold Community.
